Celebrating the fine arts and crafts of India

Anuradha Venkatraman's spirit impatient...Anuradha Venkataraman has acquired the finesse of the Tanjavur style of Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Padmashri Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan.

She performed her stage debut- Arangetram in the year 1994. She frames in time, her devotion to this dance of Lord Shiva in every performance of hers. Anuradha takes us to the highest levels of bliss. Her rendering of the celestial form of Bharatanatyam is a poetic voyage. A result of a unique temperament.

The greatest quality of her dance is that it rediscovers grasps and reveals to us that which we thought was known. Anuradha evokes passion through her simplicity, commitment and endurance. Artists pass away. Art is immortal. But the beauty of Anuradha's dance has always been in her right action, the moment in time where she blends all that which she is and all that which she is not, in her art, is a treat for Philosophers. Even to the common observer it is evident that on stage she dies with every performance and revokes with the next. The continuous struggle of an artiste to touch the divine is both arrogant and praiseworthy. May this struggle continue...
